For restaurants, shops & locals
Get your business in Plate & Place.
Our directory of SWFL restaurants, cafés, markets, and local shops — curated by our editorial team, read by our community, browsed year-round. Submit your spot for consideration.
We review submissions weekly. Most listings go live within 10 business days.
What a listing includes
A permanent home in our directory.
Directory listings are handcrafted — not scraped, not autogenerated, not pay-to-rank.
◆
Curated entry
A short, editorial profile written by us. Address, hours, a quote from you, what to order, and why we like you.
📷
Original photography
At least four original photos by Lloyd or a guest photographer. No stock, no Yelp borrows.

Annual revisit
We check back every year — hours change, menus change, people change. Listings stay honest.
I didn’t expect being in Plate & Place to matter as much as it has. Walk-ins mention it constantly. We gained regulars, not just customers — and the photos Lloyd took still sit on our wall.

Good to know
About the directory.
Is it free?
Submission and the first-year listing are free. Annual directory maintenance after year one is $180/year — it covers the editorial revisit and fresh photography.
What kinds of businesses get in?
Restaurants, cafés, bars, markets, farm stands, bakeries, food trucks — anywhere in SWFL where you can eat or drink. We also occasionally feature retail (bookshops, boutiques) under a separate directory.
Do you reject submissions?
Yes. We curate. We turn down chains, submissions we can’t verify, and anything we can’t recommend with a straight face. It’s not personal — it’s what makes the directory mean something.
How long does approval take?
We review weekly. Most approved listings go live within 10 business days. A declined submission gets a short note explaining why.
Ready?
Tell us about your spot.
A short intake call helps us get the listing right. We’ll ask about your history, your menu, and what you want people to know.
